2020...from a distance

Updated: Jun 11, 2020

Not long after we entered 2020, vision of how things would proceed was blurred. In early March, news of a pandemic and several cases of COVID-19 in King County circulated. By March 13th (Friday the 13th), school sin Washington were closed to in person instruction. Spring sports were cancelled along with the hopes of championships.

It's now June... students and staff have not returned to the high school for anything more than handing out graduation items and taking individual photos. Distance learning is the new catch phrase, but not every student has the connectivity to participate. This was Senior Week and the admin staff put together a series of short videos highlighting awards, scholarships, and blasts from the past. No prom. No classes or classmates. No athletics.

Yet, the Class of 2020 has been resilient. They will have a story like no one else. It will be interesting to look back on the Class of 2020 at their 10-year reunion and hear of their success and challenges. After all.. hindsight is 2020.
